IN 2019-20 • JUNIOR... Carungay finished tied for 92^nd in the Golfweek Conference Challenge (Sept. 14-17, 2019).

IN 2018-19 • SOPHOMORE... Carungay finished with a 77.17 stroke average... Competed in four events events... Opened the year with a season-low 78-70-76—224 at the Arizona Intercollegiate (Jan. 28-29, 2019)… Played in the top 30 at The Farms Invitational (Feb. 11-12, 2019) with a 82-77-68. 

IN 2017-18 • FRESHMAN... Carungay finished fourth on the team and first among freshman with his 74.81 stroke average... Competed in nine of LMU's 11 events... Earned his first-career top-10 finish at the 2017 Wyoming Southern Dunes Invitational (Oct. 14-15, 2017) after shooting an even 76-70-70--216... Shot under par for the tournament and recorded his first round in the 60s at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate (Feb. 16-18, 2018) with his 4-under 70-73-69--212, placing him in a tie for 15th.

BEFORE LMU... graduated La Mirada High School as a four-year varsity member and three-year captain of the golf team... Set La Mirada High School golf scoring record for 18 holes, low 66 (-6) and 9 holes, low 31 (-4)... AJGA Qualifier Ryan Moore Junior Championship (Medalist, 1st) low 68 (-4)... CIF-SS Boys team Round 1 @ Lakewood CC (1st) low 66 (-6)... CIF-SS Boys Team Round 1runner up finish.

PERSONAL... Matthew Carungay was born in Glendale, Calif., and is the son of Miriam and Percival Carungay... has a younger sister, Sarah... majoring in Economics.
