Stanford, Calif. — No. 13 LMU got back in the win column with an 11-8 win over UC Davis on Friday, September 19th, at the MPSF Invitational, holding a lead from start to finish in a hard-fought battle.
LMU came out ahead 4-3 after the first quarter and built on that margin the rest of the way, taking a 6-5 lead into the half. The Lions added two more in the third to go up 8-6 and closed it out with a 3-2 fourth quarter for the 11-8 final.
Asher Smith led the way offensively with three goals, and
Luka Dimic and
Johnny Mendiburu each added two.
Soren Martin,
Nick Leung,
Bence Barics, and
Nico Furneaux each chipped in a goal as LMU spread the scoring around to close out the win.
LMU improves to 5-3 on the season and stays in action at the MPSF Invitational, taking on No. 9 Pepperdine at 3 p.m. later today.
