LOS ANGELES – #7 LMU women's water polo finished the season unbeaten in their home pool following Wednesday's 12-7 win against #23 Brown.
The Lions took a quick 2-0 lead after
Carolina Magano and
Cianne Benjamin scored in the first part of the game. After the Bears responded with two goals to tie the score,
Kawehi Kauahi pushed LMU back ahead with a go-ahead goal with 38 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
Brown opened the second quarter with an equalizing goal on their opening possession. LMU answered with the final four goals of the half as
Emison Styris,
Brooke Tora Gil,
Anna Tarantino, and
Cila David all scored to make it a 7-3 game at intermission.
LMU's lead grew to five as Tarantino opened the second half with a goal. The Bears pulled within three with the next two goals of the third quarter.
It became a two-score game twice in the fourth quarter with goals from Brown at 6:23 and 5:03. Magano and Styris provided answers following each of those scores from the visitors. Tarantino completed her hat trick with her third goal of the game with less than four minutes to play and
Noa Sasover scored the game's final goal with less than two minutes remaining.
Madison Searle made six saves in the cage to earn the win.
The Lions have now won 14 consecutive home games dating back to last season. LMU also posted an undefeated home record in 2024, also going 9-0 at Burns Aquatics Center two seasons ago.

The Lions will close out conference play on Friday at California Baptist. With a win at CBU, the Lions will cap off their third consecutive undefeated Golden Coast Conference season.
