FULLERTON, Calif. – The LMU women's tennis team earned a convincing 4–0 road victory over Cal State Fullerton on Friday afternoon at the Titan Courts, claiming the doubles point and securing three singles wins to clinch the match.
The Lions set the tone early in doubles play, winning two matches to take a 1–0 lead. Ada Piestrzynska and
Anastasia Bozova opened the scoring with a 6–4 victory at No. 1 doubles, while
Helene Schnack and
Kim-Michaela Zahraj followed with a matching 6–4 win on court three to clinch the point.
LMU carried that momentum into singles play and quickly pulled away.
Kim-Michaela Zahraj delivered a dominant straight-sets win at No. 6 singles, and
Anastasia Bozova added another point with a composed performance on court five. Moments later,
Ada Piestrzynska sealed the match with a decisive 6–1, 6–1 victory at No. 2 singles.
Several Lions were in control of their matches when play was halted following the clinch, including Lidia Gonzalez at the top of the lineup and
Sofia Perovani on court four.
The win moves LMU to 2–2 on the season as the Lions continue their nonconference road stretch.
