LOS ANGELES – The LMU women's tennis team delivered a statement performance in its home opener, earning a 4–3 victory over Nevada on Friday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Center behind four strong singles wins to clinch the match.
After Nevada claimed the doubles point, the Lions responded with poise and depth across the singles lineup, winning four of six matches to secure the comeback victory.

LMU dropped the doubles point after Nevada earned wins on courts one and two. Anastasia Bozova and Ada Piestrzynska battled at the top spot, while Lidia Gonzalez and Sofia Perovani competed at No. 2 doubles. The Lions were on the brink of forcing a third doubles result, as Camilia Samel-Druz and Kim-Michaela Zahraj held a late lead on court three before the match went unfinished.

LMU quickly shifted momentum in singles play.

At the top of the lineup, Lidia Gonzalez delivered a gritty three-set victory at No. 1 singles, rallying after dropping the opening set to defeat Amahe Charrier and put the Lions on the board. Ada Piestrzynska followed with a dominant straight-sets win on court three, while Anastasia Bozova added another point with a composed performance at No. 4 singles.
With the match tied, Kim-Michaela Zahraj sealed the victory for LMU, earning a straight-sets win on court five to clinch the Lions' first home win of the season.

Several matches continued after the clinch, including a three-set battle on court six.

The win moves LMU to 1–1 on the season as the Lions build momentum early in the spring slate.

Lions will return home to the LMU Tennis Center to face Houston on Sunday at 11:00 AM PT.
