SANTA CLARA, CA - The Lions wrapped up their weekend with a strong 8-2 win over Santa Clara in Sunday's series finale.

LMU got on the board early in the first inning. Arianna Jaurequi singled and later scored on an RBI double to left by Izzy Jamgotchian.

The Lions really took control in the third inning. After Jamgotchian and Jasmine Sofowora got on base, Mika Chong and Sakora Harvell each hit RBI singles to make it 2-0. Analiah Lummus followed with a two-run double, stretching the lead to 4-0.

Santa Clara scored once in the third and once more in the fifth, but LMU stayed ahead thanks to a big fourth inning. Jaurequi hit an RBI double, and Sofowora followed it up with a two-run homer to make it 7-1. Lummus added one more run with an RBI groundout to finish the scoring.

The Lions return to WCC play on Monday, May 5, for a makeup game against Oregon State at 12 PM in Stockton, CA.
