CLEVELAND – LMU Athletics has earned the school's highest finish in the annual LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Division I Final Standings.
LMU placed 115
th overall among Division I schools, surpassing 2022's previous high mark of 117
th in the nation. Additionally, the Lions placed 13
th among DI non-football schools.
"We had another outstanding year, with historic performances from multiple teams," said LMU Athletic Director Craig Pintens. "To finish with record-breaking numbers and have five teams that either won a conference championship or competed in the NCAA post-season is a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, and support staff."
The Lions earned 160.5 points, based on the postseason successes of men's soccer, beach volleyball, and men's golf. Both men's soccer and beach volleyball advanced to the Elite Eight of their respective NCAA Postseason Championships and men's golf earned points following their team appearance in the Charlotte Regional of the NCAA Tournament.
Three LMU teams won regular season titles as well. Beach volleyball earned the West Coast Conference's automatic bid to the postseason, while men's water polo and women's water polo finished as regular season champions.
