This year marks the 11
th straight time in the 18-year history of the metric that LMU has reached or exceeded 90 percent, and the 15
th straight year the campus has posted a mark of 88 percent or higher and fifth consecutive year maintaining 95 percent.
GSR data indicates the number of student-athletes earning a degree within six years. The NCAA developed the GSR to more accurately assess the academic success of student-athletes. The Grad Success Rate includes transfer students and student-athletes who leave in good academic standing, unlike the federal rate, which does not count transfers. The GSR also accounts for mid-year enrollees and is calculated for every sport.
The most recent Grad Success Rates are based on the four entering freshmen classes in Division I from 2014 through 2017.
In this most recent data, all 14 LMU teams recorded marks of 88 percent or better. Every one of LMU's teams are at or above the fed rate.
Seven LMU teams registered perfect 100 GSR marks, including men's tennis, men's water polo water polo, women's basketball, beach volleyball, softball, women's volleyball, and women's water polo. The perfect score is the 13
th straight for women's water polo, sixth straight for men's tennis, fourth straight for women's basketball and softball, and third straight for men's water polo and women's volleyball.
Of the 24 Division I schools in California, LMU's rate of 95 percent is tied for fourth overall with Pepperdine and San Diego, just behind Santa Clara, Stanford, and San Francisco. The West Coast Conference shows well in the GSR standings, as the Lions are one of six member schools that are at or above 95, and tied for fourth overall.
