Box Score LOS ANGELES – #16 LMU men's water polo fell to #15 UC San Diego in Saturday night's non-conference matchup, 10-3. This is the second time the two schools have met this year, with the Tritons taking each leg of the series.
Caden Poulleau scored the only goal of the first quarter, giving the Lions the game's opening goal at the 1:11 mark.
UC San Diego then scored all five goals in the second quarter to flip the script and give the visitors a 5-1 lead at halftime.
After the Tritons scored to open the third,
Bence Barics made it a 6-2 game. UCSD added two more in the quarter to make it an 8-2 game after three.
Roman Saroyan capitalized on a 6-on-5 with a goal with 5:15 remaining in the game. The Tritons scored two final goals over the last 3:04 to bring the score to a 10-3 final.
Stelios Dalmaras made four saves in the cage and
Finn Friedland added one.
The Lions start conference play with two away contests next week. LMU will play at CBU on Oct. 16 and at Pacific on Oct. 20.
