LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymount University Athletics is thrilled to partner with Altius Sports Partners to introduce an in-house General Manager for the athlete Name, Image, and Likeness program. LMU becomes the first school from the West Coast Conference and the second non-Power Five school to add an in-house ASP NIL GM, marking a pivotal moment. This collaboration empowers LMU student-athletes with unprecedented support and opportunities in the ever-changing NIL landscape.
"We are thrilled about this partnership as it ensures our student-athletes receive full support in navigating the NIL landscape. We aim to equip them with the knowledge, resources, and tools to make informed decisions and reach their potential. This new chapter brings exciting opportunities for LMU Athletics and our student-athletes to excel in their NIL endeavors, making a positive impact both on and off the field," said LMU Athletic Director Craig Pintens.
The newly appointed GM will oversee all aspects of the NIL program at LMU, including education, training, monitoring, compliance with rules and regulations, and alignment with corporate sponsors. Working closely with the athletics department, the GM will enhance the student-athlete experience by creating and coordinating programs and resources. Additionally, they will raise awareness about NIL initiatives among the greater Los Angeles community, including business leaders, and work closely with the LMU corporate relations team to proactively generate incremental revenue through corporate partnerships and NIL opportunities.
"We are excited to be working alongside LMU corporate relations, on this innovative, first-of-its-kind partnership. Our focus is to find the right person to spearhead this effort and pave the way for Lions to excel in NIL opportunities. It is clear that LMU is dedicated to providing their athletes with exceptional support and we firmly believe that having dedicated NIL personnel on campus is crucial for success at all levels." said Brittney Whiteside, Vice President of Collegiate Partnerships at Altius Sports Partners.

The ASP GM Program, which launched in July 2022, centralizes support services for NIL across athletics departments. LMU is one of twelve schools, both within and outside the Power Five, participating in this program. ASP personnel, stationed on campus, offer customized education and guidance on national issues related to NIL, ensuring student-athletes have the best opportunities. ASP's dedication to student-athlete NIL development and collaboration with institutional partners make them a valuable asset to the program. As the GM Program expands, ASP will continue to provide advisory support and innovative guidance to all participating schools.
