MALIBU, Calif. – The West Coast Conference Regular Season Co-Champions came up short in the semifinal round of the conference tournament on Saturday. The 12^th-ranked Lions fell to #14 San Jose State, 7-5.
 
The Spartans took a 2-0 lead in the first quarter with goals at the 4:15 and 1:13 marks.
 
Tommaso Baldineti and Max Walsworth tied the game at 2-2 with goals to open the second quarter. San Jose State then recaptured their lead with a goal at full-strength. Richie Rimlinger tied the game with 53 seconds showing before halftime, but the Spartans added one back on their ensuing possession to take a 4-3 lead into intermission.
 
The three-seeded Spartans extended their lead with all three goals in the third quarter.
 
The Lions attempted their comeback in the fourth quarter and did not allow San Jose State to score in the period. Jonny Rimlinger scored a powerplay goal to get the scoring started and then added a second, but not until the final 17 seconds of the game.
 
Stelios Dalmaras recorded an additional 12 saves to bring his total for the tournament to 34.
 
The Lions finsihed the season as WCC Regular Season Co-Champions.
