LOS ANGELES – Ahead of Saturday's season opener, the LMU men's water polo team has been picked to finish fourth in the Western Water Polo Association by the league's head coaches.
The Lions received 48 points in the ballot, one off Cal Baptists' 49. UC Davis was picked to repeat as conference champions and UC San Diego was predicted as the runners-up.
The Collegiate Water Polo Association's first National Poll has tabbed LMU at 15th with 34 points.
LMU will host this year's WWPA Championships from Nov. 18-20 at Burns Aquatics Center, with the tournament winner clinching an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
The 2022 season will begin at home as well, as LMU hosts Occidental on Saturday on the bluff. The game will begin at 11:00 AM and is free for all fans to attend.
