The Loyola Marymount University Spirit Squads are excited to announce that our tryouts will now be held on August 28th, 2022 at 1pm - 5pm PT.
As an LMU Spirit Squad, our Dance Team, Cheer Team, and Mascot Squad are a selected group of talented individuals to represent Loyola Marymount University. The Spirit Squads support our athletic teams by generating crowd enthusiasm. They also represent the university at a variety of community alumni, civic, and charitable events to generate the LMU spirit!
The Spirit Squads are co-ed and will participate in home athletic events as well as post-season competition. The Spirit Squads are held to the highest standards both on and off the field. We are always looking for individuals to fulfill the role of ambassador for the University, and for new talent.
What: LMU Spirit Squad Tryouts
When: Sunday, August 28, 2022 | 1pm - 5pm
Pre-Requisite: Must be a full-time student at LMU
How to Tryout: Fill out the
required Spirit Squad Tryout Submission on or before August 27, 2022.
Attire
- LMU Crimson, LMU Blue, White, Black, or Gold colors
- No Baggy Clothes
- Natural Game Day Makeup
- Red Lips
- Cheer/Dance Shoes
- White Crew Socks
- Any LMU color bow (Not Required)

Q: Other than cheerleading & dancing abilities, what are you looking for in a recruit?
A: We are looking for well-rounded athletes and students. We might not always choose based purely on the most talented athletes that tryout, but rather the athletes that will fit our needs as a program the best. As with most sports, we are looking to fill the missing needs left by departing team members and graduates.
Q: How will I know if I can tryout?
A: You must submit your
Spirit Squad Tryout Submission form. Once complete, you will receive an email with a confirmation and more information on August 25th - August 27th (depending on application submission).
Q: Is there a fee to tryout?
A: Yes, a non-refundable $35 fee will be required. You must pay
here.
