Game Recap: Women's Water Polo |

Bradley Starts in Cage to Lift Lions Over Concordia

LOS ANGELES – LMU women's water polo moved to 2-0 in Golden Coast Conference play on Saturday with a home win over Concordia. The #T-17 Lions built up a double-digit lead before ultimately beating the Eagles, 13-8.
 
Concordia scored first before LMU tied the game with a Kelsey Snelgar goal and took a lead at the 1:13 mark at Ruth Arino Ruiz scored the go-ahead goal. Mollie Williams made it 3-1 to end the first.
 
The Lions scored first to open the second quarter with Arino Ruiz adding to her goal count. After Concordia added one back, Arino Ruiz, Snelgar, and Mei Vilanova closed out the half with three goals in a row to take an 8-2 halftime lead.
 
The first four goals of the second half all went to LMU as Williams, Yanah Gerber, Tara DeBrabander, and Williams again extended the lead to 11-2. After the Eagles scored one back, Alexandra Akritidou and Arino Ruiz extended the home lead to double-digits, 13-3. With a Concordia goal in the final minute, LMU took a 13-4 into the final period.
 
With LMU playing a rotation of subs in the fourth quarter, Concordia scored four goals to final the game down 13-8.
 
Elizabeth Bradley allowed six goals in just under 30 minutes of play to earn the win. Talia Herbermann closed out the game as LMU's goalkeeper.
 
The Lions will have a quick turnaround and play at UC San Diego on Sunday at noon.
