Box Score DAVIS, Calif. – LMU men's water polo held an early lead against the top-seeded UC Davis water polo in Saturday's semi-finals, before the Aggies pulled away to win, 8-5.
 
The Lions scored first as Tyler Harvey's goal in the first minute gave LMU the 1-0 lead. After UC Davis tied the game, David Carrasco pushed LMU back on top on the ensuing possession less than two minutes into the game. The Aggies scored on a powerplay with 3:12 to play to tie the game at 2-2, which remained the score line through the remainder of the period.
 
Two UC Davis goals to open the second quarter put the hosts ahead by two. Harvey got one back, scoring with 3:31 on the clock. The Aggies scored the final goal of the half to take a 5-3 lead into intermission.
 
Only two total goals were scored in the third quarter, each coming on consecutive possessions. UC Davis scored the first, then LMU earned a man advantage and scored on a powerplay with 6:25 remaining in the quarter.
 
UC Davis expanded their lead with two goals to open the fourth quarter. Jonny Rimlinger made it an 8-5 game, scoring on a powerplay with 3:46 to play. No goals followed as LMU was unable to come back.

The Lions will play in the third-place game on Sunday morning against UC Davis at 10:00 AM.
