KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches announced the Team Academic Award winners at the high school and collegiate levels to recognize exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year.
For the 19
th time since 1999, and seventh consecutive year, the Loyola Marymount women's soccer team has received the recognition. LMU men's soccer also achieved the recognition for the second time since the award's creation.
A total of 999 college teams (347 men, 652 women) earned the Team Academic Award for last season. To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible.
Women's soccer posted a 3.42 GPA under Head Coach
Michelle Myers and men's soccer recorded a 3.06 under Head Coach
Paul Krumpe.
Both programs are underway in conference play for the 2019 season.
