LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymount men's water polo has two more ranked opponents on the schedule this weekend as the Lions (2-2) travel south to compete in the WWPA/GCC Challenge Cup. LMU will open the cup at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday against #8 Pepperdine (3-1) and finish out the day with #10 UC Irvine (2-2) at 3:30 p.m.
The Lions, now ranked 20
thin the nation by the Collegiate Water Polo Association, moved into this week's poll for the first time this season.
Pepperdine boasted a 3-1 weekend at the Bruno Classic in Providence, Rhode Island to open the year, with their lone blemish coming by a goal in double-overtime to Brown.
UC Irvine, the hosts of this year's conference clash, participated in the same Triton Invitational last weekend as the Lions. The Anteaters went 2-2 as well, with UCI winning both games on Saturday and dropping their Sunday contests.
Both games on Saturday will feature live stats through TheFOSH.
