2019 LMU Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Weekend

Los Angeles – Loyola Marymount University continues the celebration of its incredible athletics legacy by introducing our Athletics Hall of Fame Class for 2019. The LMU Athletics Hall of Fame Class will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 16 at Roski Dining Hall at 6:30 p.m. following the men's basketball game against BYU. The West Coast Conference matchup will start at 1 p.m. Some of the greatest names in LMU sports history comprise the class, including coaches and record holders from six sports.

2019 Hall of Fame Bios
 
Dave Snow – Coach – Baseball
Dave Snow was the head baseball coach of the LMU Baseball program from 1985-1988. Snow was the 1986 West Coast Conference Coach of the Year, National Co-Coach of the Year and guided LMU to its lone College World Series appearance that year. In 1986 Snow led LMU to a record of 50-15 which was highlighted by a number one ranking by ESPN. Snow's record at LMU was 161-82-1 overall and finished with a 59-35-1 record in conference play. 
 
Anthony Ireland – Men's Basketball 
Anthony Ireland played on the Men's Basketball team from 2010-2014. Ireland played every game in his tenure at LMU, playing 132 games and starting 125. Ireland ranks first in games played and minutes played. He was named first-team All-WCC in 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 making him just the third Lion to be named first-team three times. Ireland ranks third overall in career points made with 2,169, second in field goals attempted with 1,773, third in assists with 557 and second in steals with 200.
 
Sam Fischer – Softball
Sam Fischer played on the Softball team from 2009-2012. Fischer was the First Team All-PCSC selection, the first All-American in program history and left LMU ranked number one in the Lions' record book in home runs 65, RBI's 172, total bases 495, batting average .387, slugging percentage .786, on-base percentage .494, runs scored 184,doubles 52 and walks 127. Her success went on to earn her a spot on the USA National Team in 2012.
 
Emily Day – Women's Volleyball 
Emily Day played on the Women's Volleyball team from 2005-2008. Day ranks fifth in total attacks 3,844, sixth in kill average 3.56, and kills 1,396, eighth in digs 1,096 and tenth in dig average 2.80. Day was on the 2005 Freshman All-WCC team, a three-time All-WCC Academic Team member and First Team All-WCC member in 2007-2008. Day has gone on to have a successful professional career in the AVP.
 
Mike & Patty Smith – Benefactors 
Mike & Patty Smith have long been generous supporters to LMU Athletics for over 50 years. The Smiths are both LMU alums (Mike '66, Patty '98) and have been a part of the Athletic Director's Council since its inception. The Smiths have been influential in impacting the Softball program through the transformation of the Softball field. Their support has gone beyond their life-long commitment as fans and supporters, creating a lasting impact for future generations to enjoy. 
 
2002 Women's Tennis Team 
The 2002 LMU Women's Tennis team captured LMU Women's Tennis' first WCC title. They finished the season ranked 59th with a record of 14-11 and 7-1 WCC record. Head Coach Jamie Sanchez earned WCC Coach of the Year honors for the second time. All-WCC honors were bestowed to singles Andrea Lord, Edit Pakay, Penka Fileva and Angelina Zdorvytska. They were joined by All-WCC honors from Lord/Zdorvystka and Hladik/Pakay. The 2002 Women's Tennis Team members are: Penka Fileva, Erin (Sanchez) Henn, Julie Hladik-Reid, Georgie (Dinham) Lalonde, Andrea Lord, Edit Pakay, Jessica Palencia, Beatrice Sagaria-Rossi, Angelina Zdorovytska.
