First Day of SoCal Invite Closes

LOS ANGELES -A rare night game of water polo action came to the Burns Aquatics Center as Cal and Pacific went into overtime in game 16 of the 2015 KAP7 SoCal Invitational. Day one of the annual tournament hosted by LMU and Pepperdine came to a close and 16 more games are on tap on Sunday.

The Lions dropped a pair of contests, falling to fourth-ranked Cal, 17-7, then falling to 16th-ranked Santa Clara, 13-11. The Lions will host eight more games at the Burns Center on Sunday and they will get the action started with Pomona-Pitzer at 8 am in game 18 of the tournament.

Game 20 will feature San Jose State taking on Concordia at 9:20 am, followed by Pepperdine facing off against Santa Clara at 10:40 am. The first session of the day ends with Air Force facing UC San Diego at 12 noon.

Action continues through the ninth place game at 5:20 pm.
