LMU at UCLA Box Score
LOS ANGELES -- The LMU men's water polo team fell to the second-ranked UCLA Bruins, 16-8, at Spieker Aquatics Center on Friday night in a non-conference match-up. LMU will finally return home to play their first home game of the season on Saturday when they host conference foe Pomona-Pitzer at the Burns Aquatics Center at 2 p.m.
Freshman Milutin Mitrovic had two goals and six others added a goal as the middle quarters hurt the Lions. UCLA turned a 5-3 lead after one into a 14-6 lead heading into the final quarter.
LMU falls to 3-4 while UCLA improves to 12-1.
UCLA was an impressive 7-for-10 on the 6-on-5 attack while LMU went 3-for-7, while adding a pair of 5-meter penalty goals on three attempts.
The Lions will play their first of four home games on the season when they host the Sagehens. The Lions are 2-0 in Western Water Polo Association play on the season.
