STANFORD, Calif. -- Defense continues to be the fifth-ranked LMU men's water polo run at the 2009 NorCal Invitational, unfortunately fourth-ranked UCLA's defense was a tad better as they allowed just four shots on goal against the Lions for a 7-3 win at Stanford on Saturday evening.

UCLA held a 3-0 lead after the first frame and took a 5-1 lead into halftime. The Bruins added another goal lead in the third, leading 6-1 heading into the fourth quarter. The Lions managed a pair of goals but could not get any closer.

Edgaras Asajavicius had another pair of goals for the Lions.

The Lions will now face No. 8 UC Irvine in Game No. 21 at 8:30 a.m., as the NorCal Invitational concludes on Sunday.
