Women's Rowing Takes Petite Final

Rancho Cordova, CA (May 19, 2002) -- The Loyola Marymount University women's rowing team won the 2002 Pacific 10 Conference Rowing Championship Petite final with a time of 7:27.4 on Sunday at Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, Calif.

The Lions placed fourth in the third heat of the women's varsity eight competition with a time of 7:24.7, good enough to advance to the petite final held later in the afternoon. In the final the Lions finished three seconds off their heat time to win the petite title. They finished just over two seconds faster than Sacramento State, who finished in a time of 7:27.4.

In heat three that morning the Lions finished behind UC Davis, who placed third in a time of 7:24.7.
