LMU Softball Dominates WCC All-Conference Awards with Nine Honors

LOS ANGELES – The LMU softball team received a remarkable total of nine awards as the WCC unveiled its All-Conference awards and honors.
 
Jenna Perez secures back-to-back WCC Pitcher of the Year title, along with head coach Tairia Flowers who clinches consecutive WCC Coach of the Year awards.
 
Perez finished the regular season with an ERA of 2.09 and led the WCC in both strikeouts (221) and saves (four). She is also ranked 13th in the nation in strikeouts and her 13 wins has her ranked second in the WCC.
 
Izzy Jamgotchian, Morgan DeBord, Sydney Poole and Perez were all named to the All-Conference First Team.
 
Jamgotchian finished the season with an impressive 34 RBIs, securing her the fifth position in the conference rankings. Additionally, she showcased her power at the plate with 37 hits, eight runs scored, and six home runs.
 
DeBord played, and started, in all 47 games for the Lions. She finished with remarkable season statistics, which include 34 runs scored, 28 RBIs, and a slugging percentage of .622.
 
Poole also played in all 47 games finishing the season with 111 hits, 75 runs and 18 RBIs. Poole's defensive skills were equally outstanding with a fielding percentage of .976. She also collected 38 putouts, three assists, and only one error.
 
Jessica Hubbard, Savannah Hooks, Amanda Ta'amu and Jasmine Sofowora were also named to the WCC Honorable Mention Team.
 
As the Lions gear up for the NCAA Regionals, they enter the big stage with great winning momentum. LMU will take on the Florida Gators Friday, May 19, in Stanford, CA. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+ at 3:00 PM.
